Week 2:
Mon. Jan. 26Tweeting Maxims project (continuing steps 1 -3):
Embed tweets of found maxims (15-20, with 10 favorite/best at top of list): Just below the embedded tweet, explain why you selected the maxim (why is it "good") and share the author's name if you could not fit it in the tweet. Introduce Controlling Values
Before Wednesday's class: Live tweet Bill Joy's "Why the Future Doesn't Need Us": live tweet to hashtag #billjoy
|
What is the network of controlling values between Silva and Wieseltier? In your live tweets, work to focus on the maxims you are finding in the reading and tweet them! |
Wed. Jan. 28
Tweeting maxims, step four: select 10 of your best embedded "found" tweets. Determine general sentence types for each of the ten selected maxims (additive or subordinating) in the middle column, and give specific sentence types (from copy and compose) in the right column.
Come to class having read and live tweeted Bill Joy's "Why the Future Doesn't Need Us": live tweet to hashtag #billjoy
For Monday, read Clay Shirky's chapter "Means" from his book Cognitive Surplus. Live tweet to hashtag #Shirky
